CHAMPION PEOPLE TENNIS
_The word, 'Champion', means
different things to different people. But to Warwick, it means drawing
the very best from each individual in physical performance and
psychological maturity.
Finding the champion that lies within each of us is a journey of discovery that involves many things: goal setting, self-discipline, practice, mental toughness and technique.
But it must be drawn from three fundamental qualities: Commitment, Truth and excellence. This is Warwick students' mantra, it is their North star.

_COMMITMENT

David & Goliath
Commitment is dedicating oneself to doing everything with all of your energies and skill - every time in everything. Physically fit, mentally tough, tactically shrewd, poised and passionate are the characteristics of commitment.
"Commitment begins with understanding your dream and adopting a purpose driven life."

TRUTH

Warwick & Amelie Mauresmo, France 1998.
_Why truth? Why is truth fundamental to being a champion? While you might achieve much and win some awards without it, you will never become the champion you could have been. To be a true champion, you must be honest with yourself about progress, your disappointments and with whom you must share the credit.
"You must know your self."
"You must know your self."
EXCELLENCE

Warwick & Marcos Baghdatis,
Melbourne - 2003.
_Excellence is not a final destination, it is a habit, a lifestyle and should become a way of living day-to-day. Finding the champion in you isn't just about adopting good values and a healthy lifestyle, it involves repetition.
It is also about self-discipline. At the high school and club levels, 9 out of 10 times, the player who wins, is the one who can more consistently return the ball and show the self discipline and patience to pick their opportunities.
"I don't expect my clients to arrive with all of those qualities, just the commitment to work with me to find it in them."
- Warwick Bashford
Whether working with Warwick in a clinic, private lesson, or are part of a team, you will hear, "commitment", "Truth" and "Excellence", repeated many a time along the path to Champion.
